A rare antique spoon warmer in the former of a fish on a small rocky base. Height 10 cms. Length 21 cms. Width 7 cms. Electroplated. Circa 1870. Marked underneath with silver plate stamps for James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield.

Literature: These collectible items were originally made to assist in keeping food warm in the chilly Victorian houses. Nowadays they are popularly used as flower holders, toothbrush holders, pen pots etc.
