A stunning pair of sterling silver salt and pepper shakers in the form of boiled eggs sitting in silver egg cups. These are life size and very realistic. The white egg shells are decorated in white enamel. By the sought after modern silversmith Anthony Elson who's pupil was Gerald Benney. The eggs have a bayonet fitting at the bottom, they unscrew from their egg cups and the inside of the salt shaker is gilded. They still have the original patination but could be polished to a bright silver finish if wanted. Weight 272 grams, 8.7 troy ounces. Height 11 cms. Diameter 4.25 cms. London 1979.
