Of sporting interest. A decorative antique sterling silver tankard with a deep embossed decoration of a shooting scene. Gilt interior. The chased decoration is excellent quality and shows a gentleman with a rifle in a wooded clearing and birds flying; there is a band flower and foliate ornament below. To the front there is a regimental inscription. Contains 825 ml. Weight 825 grams, 26.5 troy ounces. Height 19 cms. Spread 18 cms. Diameter 10 (top). Full English silver hallmarks for London 1766. Maker Thomas Whipham & Charles Wright.

Signed/Inscribed: Inscription "Presented to CAPTAIN & ADJUTANT, R>B> BELLERS, Royal Wiltshire Militia. By the serjeants of the regiment as a token of esteem".
