A large circular antique silver bowl of good size and unusually heavy weight; this excellent quality is just as you'd expect from a master silversmith trained by the world famous Paul Storr. This bowl could be used as a punch bowl or fruit bowl, or even a wine cooler. Bright gilt interior. Exceptional deep relief decoration chased with Bacchanalian cherubs on a vine leaf background with scrolling foliage and shell ornament. All on a finely executed matted background. To the front and reverse is a blank cartouche.
