An early English silver cream jug having a pitcher shape with shaped scroll handle and a small spreading foot. Small size silver cream jugs without lids were only introduced in the 1720's so this is probably one of the earliest silver cream jugs ever made. Excellent colour. Weight 91 grams, 2.9 troy ounces. Height 8.25 cms. Spread 7.5 cms. London 1728. Maker Thomas Roberts.
