An early English silver cream jug in the sparrow beak form. Small cream jugs without lids weren't introduced until the 1720's and this very charming small size milk jug is a typical example with its lovely plain baluster shape on a spreading foot. Excellent patina. Contains 60 ml. Weight 66 grams, 2.1 troy ounces. Height 7.5 cms. Spread 7.5 cms. Diameter 3.5 cms. London 1743. Maker William Gwillim.
