A highly sought after item by this highly regarded Huguenot maker noted particularly for his fine quality coffee pots. An antique sterling silver chocolate pot of baluster form on a spreading foot. The lid with chain and pin can be detached for cleaning and the acorn finial is removable so that the chocolate can be stirred. The bands of graceful chasing are typical of Aime Videau's work from the mid 1730s onwards. Weight 835 grams, 26.8 troy ounces. Height 25.5 cms. Spread 20 cms. London 1749. Maker Aymé Videau.
