An excellent quality 2 handled silver cup, in the antique style, having applied strapwork and ribbed borders. There is a very interesting presentation inscription to A Grenfells, the winner of the Kadir Cup in 1933. Excellent weight 1785 grams, 57.3 troy ounces. Height – total 14.5 cms, to top of handle 9.5 cms, to top rim 6.75 cms.

There is some fascinating 1934 footage of this annual Raj sporting event (viewable on the internet) in the Fraser Collection, held by the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum. Competitors and visitors travel on elephants to the location of the race for the Hog Hunters Cup, a pig sticking competition.
