A marvellous pair of antique silver plated wine coolers in a basket design with bark finish and “tied with” ribbons. Each with a removable liner. Height 22 cms. Diameter 8.5 cms. Date marked for 1867.

2205. Monumental Regency Bronze Wine Cooler.

It is rare to find an antique double wine cooler of this quality and size. Made of solid bronze and of oval form the deep relief frieze to the body shows playful putti and bacchanalian scenes. The wine theme is repeated in the grape and vine leaf border on the base. Height 35 cms. Length 47 cms. Depth 33 cms. Circa 1830.

A rare lot. A magnificent pair of early 19th century sterling silver wine coolers with detachable tops and removable liners. Beautifully decorated with leaf and scroll motifs and bearing a crest. Height 27.5 cms. Diameter of top 23 cms. Weight 180 troy ounces approx the pair. The coolers and tops dated London 1836 by John Figg. The contemporary liners are in old Sheffield plate.

1686. Set of 5 Silver Wine Coasters.

This striking set of 5 gilded and sterling silver wine coasters are from a limited edition of 600 coasters made to commemorate the distinguished politician, theologian and architect William Wykeham. Mounted on heavy hardwood bases the decorative pierced frieze reads “Manners Maketh Man Quoth William Wykeham”. The armorial detail in the centre is of very fine quality. Diameter 14 cms. London 1982.
