3870. Vintage Silver and Glass Match Striker.
A medium size sterling silver topped glass match striker with traditional ring banded glass base. Height 7.5 cms, max width 8 cms approx. Birmingham 1911. The whole of the top is made of solid silver including the insert where the matches stand. This is a good feature. Birmingham 1911. Good but used condition, slight fritting to the glass, a few small dents to the silver.

A super working model of a veteran car containing a match box/striker and cigar/cigarette box. All 4 wheels turn and the steering wheel changes direction. The front bonnet is topped with a match striker and the hinged lid opens to reveal the match box. The open rear of the car can contain cigars or cigarettes. A good size. Length 22 cms. 1707. Novelty “Face” Combination Match Striker.
This is a most unusual item. In sterling silver, this novelty match striker is in the form of a head with 2 eyes serrated to strike the matches on, the nose is a cigar rest, the mouth is an ashtray and the circular font at the top is to contain the matches (use your imagination to see the matches as a tuft of hair at the top!). With a registered design number Rd519008. Height 7 cms. Weight 5 troy ounces. London 1903.
