“The Master Incolor Cocktail Shaker”. This is the ivory coloured example from the master incolor series of art deco recipe cocktail shakers made from bakelite and silver plate. It has a revolving recipe top, internal strainer and pourer. The top cup serves as a drinks measure and is marked inside with concentric rings. Height 29 cms. Marked “Made in England. An extremely interesting piece of Irish history. A silver pen and ink case in the form of a ruler, engraved on one side with the scale 1 to 6 inches, and on the other with an Irish pound to guinea conversion table. Between 1701 and 1826 the Irish pound was fixed at 13 Irish pounds = 12 pounds sterling making it quite a hefty calculation to convert guineas into Irish pounds.
