6844. 1930’s Epns and Bakelite Recipe Cocktail Shaker
“The Master Incolor Cocktail Shaker”. This is the black and ivory coloured example from the master incolor series of art deco recipe cocktail shakers made from bakelite and silver plate. It has a revolving recipe top, internal strainer and pourer. The top cup serves as a drinks measure and is marked inside with concentric rings. Height 29 cms. Marked “Made in England. Patent pending”.

6843. Antique Silver Bird
An attractive model silver bird with detachable head and glass eyes. Inside there is a silver grill so that the bird can be used as a shaker (possibly for sugar). Beautifully modelled, the bird has very realistic plumage, the wings are applied separately but do not open. Weight 197 grams, Height 9.5 cms. Length 15 cms. Stamped on the head and rim with Dutch silver stamps for 1919.

6804. The “Thirst Extinguisher” Cocktail Shaker by Aspreys
A particularly rare novelty cocktail shaker in the form of a 1930s fire extinguisher. Eight classic cocktail recipes are revealed by simply turning the base. In addition, there is a cigar lighter hidden inside the top – just undo the little screw nut to find the wick. Height 41 cms. Silver plated. Asprey & Co. introduced the satisfyingly expensive 'Thirst Extinguisher' to their luxury range in 1932.

The lid is detachable and is held in place by a pin and chain. The top finial is removable so that the chocolate can be stirred. A nice feature is the little hinged flap on the end of the spout.
