3230. Set of 4 Antique Cherub Candelabra.

A wonderful quality set of 4 mid 19th century bronze double light candelabra in the form of 2 cherubs holding vines with grapes and foliage. These were silver plated, probably when they were originally made, and now have a superb antique patina. Height 25.5 cms. Spread 15 cms. Circa 1860.

3228. Georgian Table Lamp in Old Sheffield Plate.

This very decorative antique lamp is boldly decorated in typical Georgian style with acanthus leaf ornamented column and gadroon borders. Probably originally a candelabra base. Height 47 cms/67 cms to top of light fitting. Would need rewiring. By the celebrated maker Matthew Boulton. Circa 1830.

An attractive pair of antique candle holders with the back plate highly decorated with cherubs and other motifs. Total height 28.5 cms. height of back plate 20 cms. Circa 1880. Electroplated.

This is a fine quality and impressive furnishing piece. The large horn has decorative silver plated mounts to both ends with gilded highlights and the central supporting column and top cover are embellished with a figure of a large bird. Height 65 cms. Circa 1900.

2090. Roll Top Beef Carving Trolley.

A rectangular wooden serving trolley on wheels with barleytwist supports, decorative dolphin corner mounts and a fold out plate rack. The silver plated dome swivels to reveal a tree and well carving plateau and 2 removable vegetable serving pots. The carving jacket lifts out to access the warming burner below.

1665. Victorian Duck Press.

Hard to find, this silver plated item is for squeezing the juices out of a duck carcass once the breasts and legs have been removed. When the meat is cooked, the carcass is pressed and the resulting juices used to make a sauce. Height 46 cms.

There is a Victorian lozenge mark on each foot indicating that it is circa 1870 and there is a makers or retailers mark underneath – T Smith and Sons, Glasgow. This is a rare item.

A fine quality sterling silver carriage clock of good size and with silver decorated dial. The chime has a repeater on the quarter and half hour. With folding carrying handle. Height 13 cms (17 cms with handle). London 1886. By William Comyns.
