6172. George III Silver Chocolate Pot

A fine antique sterling silver chocolate pot with elegant plain baluster shape on pedestal foot. Stylish gadroon borders and a large armorial engraved to the front. Not only does it have a removable top finial (for stirring the chocolate) but also the lid is detachable and is secured with a shaped pin. Weight 924 grams, 29.7 troy ounces. Contains 1000 ml. Height 29 cms. Spread 21 cms. London 1775. Maker probably James Stamp.
