5819. George II Cast Silver Candlesticks A lovely plain style pair of antique sterling silver cast candlesticks with faceted columns and having a shaped base and sunken well. Each bears the crest of Lucas of Wateringbury, Kent. Excellent condition and fine patina. Weight 779 grams, 25 troy ounces. Height 17 cms. Base width 10 cms. London 1729/33. Edward Pocock in 1729 and James Gould in 1733. Condition excellent. The crest is of a stags head over a crown - both crests are worn. There is a small original fault line in the base of the Pocock candlestick. In all photos the candlestick by Edward Pocock is shown on the left. |
