5173. Victorian Silver Plated Honey Skep Biscuit Box

A rare and very attractive antique novelty biscuit box modelled as a beehive with two little bees applied to the front. The lid lifts revealing a detachable gilt liner. Height 23 cms. Width of base 22 cms. Diameter of liner 12.5 cms. Circa 1890. Silver plated. Retailed by Howell James & Co, Regent Street, London.
