4627. George III Silver Venison Dish

Exceptional quality and extremely rare. A large antique sterling silver carving dish with original matching cover and warming base both in Old Sheffield plate. Serpentine shape with crisp decorative borders. Both dish and cover have fine matching armorials engraved to both sides. Of good weight, the serving dish has a scratch weight of 120 troy ounces and measures – length 52 cms, width 40 cms. London 1819. Maker Joseph Angell.
