3827. Antique Irish Silver Swing Handle Basket.
An excellent quality Georgian sterling silver basket of good weight having an oval shape with decorative pierced work and shaped gadroon border. Length 37.5 cms, width 29 cms, height 9.5/27 cms. The chainwork handle with maker’s mark and Hibernia. Marked underneath with crowned harp, Hibernia and maker’s mark and inscribed with “Dublin 1772” and scratch weight “41.17” troy ounces. Probably by Charles Mullin.
