A good size antique Britannia standard silver flagon with a strapwork handle, decorative thumb piece and unusual hinged lip cover. The body decoration of a wooded scene with deer and stags is both distinctive and of fine quality. There is a crest to the front side. Weight 38 troy ounces. Height 21 cms. Diameter 15 cms. Very clear hallmarks on the side of the body and top of lid for London 1698.
