1008: Unusual Silver Wine Ewer

A very unusual wine ewer known as an “ascos” jug which is a replica of a Roman Pompeian jug. Heavy quality hammered body mounted at the top with 2 goat figures. The handle and rear body are highly decorated with classical mounts and angel motif. Made in London in 1905. Maker - Hunt and Roskell. Weight 29 troy ounces.
