2077. Antique Silver Pierced and Double Sided Inkstand.

This handsome 18th century sterling silver inkstand is decorated with shell and gadroon borders, pierced ornamental feet and a pen tray to either side. The 2 faceted crystal ink bottles and matching sander have sterling silver mounts and sit inside delicately pierced silver galleries. Length 31 cms. Depth 20 cms. Scratch weight 30 troy ounces. A pretty antique sterling silver desk piece in good original condition having simple styling and standing on 4 shaped feet. The central chamber stick is removable to reveal a circular container for nibs. Length 18 cms. Depth 12 cms. All pieces hallmarked London 1801.

Beautifully engraved this 2 handled desk piece has 2 fine cut crystal ink bottles and a central removable taper stick with a well below for nibs. It bears a presentation inscription dated 1860. Length 30 cms. Width 19 cms. London 1855.
