A pair of superb quality silver salts by the sought after Huguenot silversmith Paul de Lamerie. Each with a beaded rim and on four scroll feet with trefid terminals. Heavy gauge metal and lovely chunky feel. The hand chased borders of decoration to the body and top of the foot are worn. Weight 338 grams, 10.8 troy ounces. Height 5 cms. Diameter 7 cms. 6231. Queen Anne Silver Oil and Vinegar Set

A very rare early antique condiment bottle set in Britannia standard silver. The chunky frame has a double ring formation with solid handle and 4 pillar shaped supports. The hexagonal oil and vinegar bottles have vertical tear drops panels and heavy quality silver mounted tops with a cut out lower border – excellent condition early antique glass. Weight of frame 565 grams, 18.1 troy ounces. Stand measures – length 25.5 cms, spread across handle 18 cms. Bottle height – vinegar 20 cms, mustard 14 cms. London 1703. An exceptionally early date – these are not found before 1700. Maker Thomas Ash.

6601. Pair of Vintage Silver and Enamel Egg Condiments – Anthony Elson

A stunning pair of sterling silver salt and pepper shakers in the form of boiled eggs sitting in silver egg cups. These are life size and very realistic. The white egg shells are decorated in white enamel. By the sought after modern silversmith Anthony Elson who’s pupil was Gerald Benney. The eggs have a bayonet fitting at the bottom, they unscrew from their egg cups and the inside of the salt shaker is gilded. They still have the original patination but could be polished to a bright silver finish if wanted. Height 11 cms. Diameter 4.25 cms. London 1979. Maker Anthony Elson.

An attractive model silver bird with hinged top. This can be used as a salt or pepper shaker using the detachable grill inside. Alternatively it can be used without the grill. Beautifully modelled, the bird has glass eyes and a nice little bird finial to the grill. Weight 68 grams, Height 9.5 cms. Length 17 cms. Stamped on the head and rim with Dutch silver stamps for 1913.

A chunky pair of silver model owls with hinged tops. These can be used as salt and pepper shakers using the detachable grill inside. Alternatively without the grill they are suitable for mustard. Beautifully modelled, the owls have glass eyes and a nice little bird finial to the grills. Weight 130 grams, 4.1 troy ounces. Height 8 cms. Marked on the head, rim and leg with Dutch silver stamps for 1934.

A very early antique Britannia standard silver kitchen pepper with ring handle. The pull off lid is geometrically pierced with line engraving. Below are engraved the initials “R*B”. A charming novelty silver cruet set in the form of a Chinese farmyard scene on wheels. With a mustard in the form of a farm hut (with rising lid, glass liner and silver salt spoon), a salt in the form of a well (gilt inside, with glass liner), and the pepper in the form of a water buffalo. All in the original box with sliding lid. Weight of silver 133 grams, 4.2 troy ounces. A smart piece of designer silverware by the very collectible modern maker Gerald Benney. A 3 piece sterling silver condiment set consisting of a salt pot and mustard pot (with gilded interiors and complete with original grey tinted glass liners) and a tall pepper grinder. Each bears an engraved logo of a lion. Chunky style and excellent quality. This is a heavy set made of thick gauge silver. An attractive antique sterling silver cruet with a set of 7 matching bottles. The oval cruet basket has a wooden internal platform and a very pretty handle. Decorated in typical Georgian style with a half ribbed gallery, gadroon border and decorative spreading feet. The salt, pepper and mustard pots have sterling silver tops and the oil and vinegar bottles have star cut mushroom stoppers. Height to top of handle 22 cms, base 20 x 15.25 cms. 7370. Pair of George II Silver Casters

Incredible quality and weight. A pair of heavy antique sterling silver castors of octagonal shape. With a hand engraved coronet and fancy scroll work design to the front of each. One caster has a pierced top for pepper and the other has a blind cover for dry mustard. The quality of the detailed pierced work and engraving is exceptional and gives the overall impression that they are of Huguenot manufacture and by an outstanding maker such as Paul de Lamerie. Excellent colour. Weight 640 grams, 20.5 troy ounces. Height 16 cms. Fully marked underneath for London 1730. No makers mark.

An interesting pair of early English silver castors of simple plain shape and having an engraved crest of a bird to the front. They are both matching but there is an unusual feature - one has a decorative pierced top and the other has an unpierced and engraved top. This is known as a blind caster which is the earliest form of mustard pot and would have contained mustard powder. Weight 264 grams, 8.4 troy ounces. Height 13 cms. London 1732. An antique Britannia standard silver muffineer in the traditional lighthouse design and having a bayonet fitting. This lovely piece is of heavy quality and feels good in the hand. The base is simply styled with gadroon borders, the top is beautifully pierced and engraved and there is the original coat of arms engraved to the front. Weight 10.5 troy ounces. Height 21 cms.
