A tall and elegantly slim ewer with curled handle and pedestal foot, the body engraved with flowers and leaves. There is a vacant cartouche to the front. Height 28.5 cms. Weight 14 troy ounces. Russian silver marks to the base showing the maker A.K, date 1878 and the Moscow town mark.

The sterling silver mount is of excellent quality having engraved designs to the top and an unusually shaped handle reinforced with a bottom strap finishing in shaped cover to the base. Unusual Silver Wine Ewer
A very unusual wine ewer known as an “ascos” jug which is a
replica of a Roman Pompeian jug. Heavy quality hammered body mounted at
the top with 2 goat figures. The handle and rear body are highly decorated
with classical mounts and angel motif. Made in London in 1905. Maker - Hunt
and Roskell. Weight 29 troy ounces.
