This was possibly a ship’s flask for the Captain’s table. The cap unscrews and the top band is gold plated. Contains a hefty 950 ml. Weight 500 grams, 16 troy ounces. Height 21.5 cms. A shaped crystal bottle with lockable silver mount and matching stopper by the famous maker and locksmith George Betjemen. The grey tinted body has a faceted neck, large thumbnail cutting and a star cut base. The neck has a sterling silver collar with a Betjemen patent lock attached. The stopper has a sterling silver collar with a hinged catch which turns with a bayonet fitting and slots into the lock. Just turn the key to unlock the decanter. Contains 1000 ml. Height 30 cms.
