5879. Large Antique Continental Silver Basket
A tall and shapely antique German silver basket with swing handle and original blue glass liner. Perfect for fruit or flowers. Decorated all over with ornate pierced work, flowers and fruit, and birds with outstretched wings. To the front and back there is a very pretty central decoration of children playing with flowers in a meadow. Weight grams, troy ounces. Height 29 cms, 44 cms (to top of handle). Top measures 26 x 19.5 cms. Stamped in the base with German silver marks, crown and moon, 800 grade. German. Circa 1900.

5355. Georgian Silver Table Centre Piece by Benjamin Smith
A superb antique sterling silver centrepiece by the one of the great royal silversmiths of the early 19th century. The tall central column has 4 candelabra arms and is topped by an open work fruit bowl with trailing vine ornament. The workmanship is extremely fine. Weight 274 troy ounces. Height 71 cms. Spread across arms 45 cms. Diameter of bowl 24 cms. Every piece is hallmarked for London 1827. Maker Benjamin Smith.

A fine and imposing antique silver centrepiece with gilt interior and cherub mounted side handles. This antique silver bowl is beautifully decorated with motifs and scrolls and has a pierced border and pretty cast foot. Weight 2185 grams, 70.2 troy ounces. Spread 52 cms. Height 20 cms (30 cms to top of cherubs). Width 38 cms. Depth 22 cms. Marked underneath with continental silver marks. Probably German circa 1920.

This elegant silver table centre comprises of an oval stand, decorated with leaves and swags, to which the 4 side arms are attached. A useful feature is that the oval centre can be used on its own, or with a combination of 1,2 ,3 or all 4 arms.
