A decorative version of the antique silver plated folding biscuit box. It opens to reveal a stunning gilt interior. Attractive shell shape with a decorative cast border frame. The pierced grills keep the biscuits in place and can be lifted to access the contents. Silver plated. Height 24.5 cms. Width 21.5 cms. Underneath there is the unicorn mark for the Cheltenham and Company Ltd, Sheffield, UK. Silver plate on copper. Circa 1875.

A highly unusual and very decorative novelty silver plated biscuit box in the shape of a regimental side drum, the hinged lid having a pair of drum sticks as a handle. Height 14.25 cms, 17 cms to top of drum sticks. Engraved to the body with the Royal coat of arms and with an engraved monogram to the lid. Diameter 15 cms. Circa 1880. Unmarked. Silver plated.

A rare item. A Victorian mechanical folding biscuit box with 3 segments. The gilded interior of each section has pretty pierced covers on spring retainers which can be opened. Silver plated all over. Deep engraved scroll decoration and a harebell flower border. Height 24 cms. Width 21 cms. Circa 1880. Marked underneath with silver plate stamps for maker G & L.
