A stunning quality antique sterling silver bowl with fine ornament. The shaped circular body, with original gilt to the interior, has decorative panels showing putti with castles in the background and a unicorn, elephant, camel and stag. The 2 ornamental handles have dolphin head decoration and bowl stands on pomegranate feet joined by wrythen wirework. Weight 19 troy ounces. Diameter 19 cms. Spread 24 cms. Continental hallmarked silver and bears English import marks for Chester 1907. Made by Berthold Muller.

3117. Large Victorian Silver Plated Punch Bowl by Elkington.

This magnificent bowl could easily be mistaken for a sterling silver bowl from the Queen Anne period. The quality is outstanding. The castellated top is interspersed with cherub heads, there are armorials engraved to both sides and the side handles are held by an outstretched animal’s paw. Height 21.5 cms. Diameter 25.5 cms. Circa 1880.
