All with pierced decoration and clear glass liners. Good weight 1804 grams, 58 troy ounces. Large bowl height 11.5 cms, diameter 23.5 cms. Small bowl height 7.5 cms, diameter 12 cms. A good size antique silver bowl with pretty embossed decoration of chrysanthemum flowers all round. Lovely quality and weight. The hand beaten finish of the background is particularly fine. Weight 529 grams, 17 troy ounces. Height 9.75 cms. Diameter 20 cms. Marked underneath with Chinese characters for Shanghai. Circa 1910.

6533. Large Chinese Silver Bowl
A large and heavy Chinese silver bowl with hammered finish and gilt inside. Excellent quality workmanship. The applied decoration with mixed metals has an underwater theme with seaweed, crabs, shells and reeds. Very good gauge silver. Weight 1243 grams, 39.9 troy ounces. Height 9.5 cms. Diameter 24 cms. Stamped underneath with Chinese characters. High grade silver. Probably circa 1970.

A large antique sterling silver bowl with ribbed design and a decorative cartouche. The fixed scalloped rim is decorated with face masks. Bowls with this style of decorative rim are known as monteiths and can be used to hold stem glasses – the rims were originally detachable. Weight 1233 grams, 39.6 troy ounces. Height 21 cms. A good size Victorian sterling silver tureen and cover in the Charles II style. Beautifully chased with acanthus and palm foliage to both body and lid. Very thick gauge silver. A fine early English silver bowl with gilt finish. Very pleasing proportions. Very simple design, typical of the period, with a semi fluted body topped by a chased band of scalloped decoration having a border of clover leaf punches to each side. To the front there is a decorative cartouche with a pretty engraved monogram. Weight 322 grams, 10.3 troy ounces. Diameter 17 cms. Height 7 cms. London 1709. Maker William Twell.

A rare and important early English silver bowl from the Queen Anne period. Large size with charmingly quaint lions mask side handles and the ribbed body decoration typical for this period.
