A good quality set of 4 antique sterling silver bowls of oval form with pierced silver sides. Stylish classical form and having a ram’s head mount to each end. Total weight 1266 grams, 40.7 troy ounces. Length 19 cms. Width 12 cms. Height 9 cms. London 1791. Maker John Tweedie.

Biography - John Tweedie, London silversmith, no record of apprenticeship or freedom. Presumable son or younger brother of Walter Tweedie. Only mark entered as plateworker, 1783.

Condition - These antique silver dishes are in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Each is stamped with a full and matching set of clear English silver hallmarks.
