A classic antique sterling silver jug of baluster shape on a broad gadrooned foot. Good plain style. Large size, suitable for water. Scroll handle with acanthus leaf mount. Large capacity. Contains 1270 ml. Weight 761 grams, 24.4 troy ounces. Height 22 cm. Spread 18 cm. London 1771. Maker Charles Wright.

Biography - Charles Wright, apprenticed to Thomas Whipham 1747, free 1754. Ist mark entered as largeworker in partnership with Thomas Whipham 1757. 2nd mark alone 1775. 3rd mark (2 sizes) 1780. 4th mark 1780. Elected to Livery 1758, Court 1777, Warden 1783-5. Died 1815.

Condition - This useful pitcher is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Excellent colour and good gauge metal. Stamped underneath with a full set of clear English silver hallmarks.
