8942 . George II Silver Mug - Sold


A handsome antique sterling silver mug of curved baluster form with a simple scroll handle. Excellent plain style. Engraved with the original owners initials at the top of the handle. Contains 450 ml. Weight 354 grams, 11.3 troy ounces. Height 11.8 cms. Diameter 7.8 cms (top). London 1758. Maker William London.

Biography - William London, apprenticed to John Goreham 1754. 1st mark entered as smallworker 1761. 

Condition - This charming silver mug is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. With a full set of clear English silver hallmarks underneath. Excellent colour.
