A fine pair of antique sterling silver candlesticks with baluster stems and stepped square bases. Excellent quality and heavy cast weight. Weight 1018 grams, 32.7 troy ounces. Height 22 cm. Base 11.7 x 11.7 cm. London 1759. Maker Ebenezer Coker.

Biography - Ebenezer Coker, apprenticed to Joseph Smith 1728, free 1740. First mark entered 1738, 2nd mark 1739, 3rd mark 1745, 4th mark 1751, 5th mark circa 1758. Another mark was entered in partnership with Thomas Hannam 1759. Specialist candlestick and salver maker.

Condition - These excellent quality candle holders are in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Fully stamped on the underneath with clear English hallmarks, traces of the makers mark on the sconces. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
