A good quality model silver rabbit sitting upright on his haunches with his ears upright. Very realistic features and fur. Weight 105 grams, 3.3 troy ounces. Height 8 cms. London 1965. Maker Wakely & Wheeler.

6854. Antique Silver Dog Whistle
A very charming novelty silver whistle modelled with the head of a dog, probably a bulldog or a pug, complete with a collar and a small chain loop. With the name “Elise” engraved to the whistle end. Weight 21 grams. Length 4.6 cms. Unmarked continental silver. Circa 1880.

6843. Antique Silver Bird
An attractive model silver bird with detachable head and glass eyes. Inside there is a silver grill so that the bird can be used as a shaker (possibly for sugar). Beautifully modelled, the bird has very realistic plumage, the wings are applied separately but do not open. Weight 197 grams, Height 9.5 cms. Length 15 cms. Stamped on the head and rim with Dutch silver stamps for 1919.

6819. Antique Dutch Silver Cow Creamer
A little antique silver cream jug in the form of a model cow. The bee on the cow’s back lifts to fill the jug with cream which is poured out of the cow’s mouth. Very pretty face. Weight 129 grams, 4.1 troy ounces. Height 10 cms. Length 14 cms. Marked underneath with Dutch silver stamps. Circa 1890.

An attractive sterling silver cup modelled as a fox’s head. Cast silver with a gilt interior. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the fox has a lovely expression on his face. Weight 261 grams, 8.3 troy ounces. Contains 95 ml. Height 8.5 cms. London 1960. Maker Richard Comyns.

A nice little antique sterling silver elephant standing with his feet astride and having silver tusks and curled trunk. Weight 103 grams, 3.3 troy ounces. Length 8 cms. Height 4.5 cms. Import marks on the tail for London 1898. Continental silver marks underneath, probably German. Importer Samuel Boyce Landeck.

A large and heavy pair of vintage silver model table birds. The figurative detail is excellent. Weight 1739 grams, 55.9 troy ounces. Height 23 and 18 cms. Stamped on the tip of the wings with continental silver marks, 800 grade. Circa 1950.

An attractive model silver bird with hinged top. This can be used as a salt or pepper shaker using the detachable grill inside. Alternatively it can be used without the grill. Beautifully modelled, the bird has glass eyes and a nice little bird finial to the grill. Weight 68 grams, Height 9.5 cms. Length 17 cms. Stamped on the head and rim with Dutch silver stamps for 1913.

6442. Pair of Antique Silver Owl Condiments
A chunky pair of silver model owls with hinged tops. These can be used as salt and pepper shakers using the detachable grill inside. Alternatively without the grill they are suitable for mustard. Beautifully modelled, the owls have glass eyes and a nice little bird finial to the grills. Weight 130 grams, 4.1 troy ounces. Height 8 cms. Marked on the head, rim and leg with Dutch silver stamps for 1934.

6680. Antique Silver Knight on a Horse
A large antique silver model knight astride a galloping horse. This is a particularly nice example in terms of size and also the quality of workmanship. The knight has an ivory face and a helmet with rising visor. The model is very intricate with many separate pieces assembled together such as the sword, jousting pole, sword, stirrups and horse bridal. Weight 1445 grams, 46.4 troy ounces. Height 34.65 cms. Spread 35.5 cms. Base 23 x 13 cms. Marked on the side of the base with German silver marks “800” and an inverted “U”. Circa 1900.

6638. Antique Silver Knight on Horseback
A magnificent sterling silver model of a knight in armour mounted on a rearing horse. The knight’s helmet has a hinged visor and inside you can see his carved ivory face. Excellent weight and figurative detail. Part gilded on the hoofs, saddle and bridal. Weight 1238 grams, 39.8 troy ounces. Height 21.5 cms (24.5 cms to top of flag). Base 16.5 x 8 cms. Marked on the front edge of the base “STERLING”, 925 and “GERMANY”. Circa 1920.

6636. Pair of Antique Silver Knights
An excellent pair of model knights in full armour with hinged visors and carved ivory faces. Fantastic workmanship and decorative detail. Each knight has a different suite of armour and carries different weapons – shield, axe, sword, ball and chain. Traces of the original gilding. Total weight 1059 grams, 34 troy ounces. Heights 23, 24.5 cms (with visor closed). Base 7 x 7 cms. Marked around the edge of the base with import marks for London 1920 and Berthold Hermann Muller.

An excellent antique silver toothpick holder in the form of a male figure holding up a branch with a peacock. On the body and outstretched wings of the bird are the little holes to put the toothpicks. A very charming piece. Weight 250 grams, 8 troy ounces. Height 21.5 cms. Base 7.7 cms x 7.5 cms. Unmarked silver. Portuguese or possibly South American. Circa 1840.

6794. Antique “Jolly Boat” Decanter Stand in Old Sheffield Plate
A collectors item. A rare antique double decanter stand in the form of a rowing boat beautifully modelled with attention to every detail. The boat is fitted with two circular recesses for decanters and 2 smaller holes to hold the stoppers. Length 32 cms. Width 14 cms. Height 5.5 cms. Diameter – decanter 11 cms, stopper 2.7 cms. Old Sheffield Plate. Circa 1820.
